چکیده

Kennedy et al. have introduced mixtures of monoor polyfunctional aralkyl chlorides with BCl, as initiating systems for the polymerization of isobutene'). This so-called inifer technique has been demonstrated to be a valuable method for the production of telechelic polymers2). The mechanism of initiation, which has been suggested for these polymerizations'*2), is in full agreement with the results of our model studies3). The growth of the polyisobutene chain may be interrupted either by chain transfer to inifer [Eq. ( l ) ] or by the termination step shown in Eq. ( 2 ) ' ~ ~ ) .

Thermal effect and role of entanglement and coherence on excitation transfer in a spin chain

We analyze the role of bath temperature, coherence and entanglement on excitation transfer in a spin chain induced by the environment. In Markovian regime, we show that coherence and entanglement are very sensitive to bath temperature and vanish in time in contrary to the case of having zero-temperature bath. That is while, finding the last qubit of the chain in excited state increases by incre...

Dual Nano-Carriers using Polylactide-block-Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-random-acrylic acid) Polymerized from Reduced Graphene Oxide Surface for Doxorubicin Delivery Applications

The stimuli-responsive nanocomposites were designed as drug delivery nanocarriers. Thanks to promising properties such as large surface area and easy chemical functionalization, the graphene derivatives can be used for the drug delivery applications. For this purpose, in the current work, the poly(L,D-lactide)-block-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-rand-acrylic acid) grafted from reduced graphene oxi...

Cyclic poly(alpha-peptoid)s and their block copolymers from N-heterocyclic carbene-mediated ring-opening polymerizations of N-substituted N-carboxylanhydrides.

N-Heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-mediated ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of N-substituted N-carboxylanhydride ((N)R-NCA) yields cyclic poly(alpha-peptoid)s with controlled molecular weights (M(n) = 3-30 kg mol(-1)) and narrow molecular weight distributions (PDI = 1.04-1.12). The reactions exhibit characteristics of a living polymerization with minimal chain transfer. This enables the facile synt...

Surface-initiated Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization and Solution Intercalation Methods for Preparation of Cellulose-G-PS-G-PAN/MMT Bionanocomposite

Cellulose was modified by polystyrene (PS) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) via free radical and living radical polymerization, and then cellulose was used as the matrix in the preparation of polymer/clay nanocomposite, through a solution intercalation method. For this purpose, first, the graft polymerization of styrene (St) onto cellulose fibers was performed by using suspension polymerization and ...

Evaluation of Automated Synthesis for Chain and Step- Growth Polymerizations: Can Robots Replace the Chemists?

This article explores current challenges in the use of automated parallel synthesizers in polymeric materials research. Four types of polymerizations were investigated: carbodiimide-mediated polyesterification, diphenol phosgenation, free radical, and reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT). Synthetic challenges of condensation polymerization, such as liquid and solid dispensing...
